Join our kitchen team in the heart of the Top End at Mercure Kakadu Crocodile Hotel. We are looking for a passionate and reliable Demi Chef to help deliver fresh, high-quality dining experiences for guests visiting one of Australia’s most iconic destinations.
About the Role
As a Demi Chef, you will support the kitchen leadership team in daily food preparation and service across breakfast, lunch, dinner, and functions. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced hospitality environment and takes pride in presentation, consistency, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities Prepare and present high-quality dishes in line with menu standards Assist with stock rotation, ordering, and minimising waste Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards across all kitchen areas Support senior chefs during busy service periods Contribute ideas for seasonal menus and daily specials Ensure compliance with WHS and HACCP requirements
About You Previous experience in a commercial kitchen or hotel setting Relevant culinary qualifications preferred Robust understanding of food safety and kitchen operations Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays Positive attitude with a team-focused approach Ability to thrive in a remote hospitality workplace Must have valid Australian working rights (sponsorship is not available for this position)
