The Mechanical / Electrical Engineering Technician is in charge of their shift and must ensure the productive, effective and safe operation of all areas under their control. Responsibilities include:

Monitor and ensure safe and effective mechanical / electrical production operations of gin site

Undertake mechanical / electrical based maintenance and repairs to minimise plant and equipment unplanned downtime;

Install recent or modify existing assemblies and components;

Ensure maintenance and repairs plan/schedule is adhered to;

Establish open lines of communication between departments to ensure repairs are carried out in an efficient manner;

Provide reactive support to cotton ginnery equipment in the event of an emergency breakdown;

Conduct testing of all ginnery machinery and equipment to ensure all ginning machinery are operating at maximum capacity;

Skills and experience:

Mechanical or electrical trade / certification or five or more years relevant experience;

Demonstrated experience in maintenance/production environments;

Team player attitude with high attention to detail;

Ability to commit to residing in the Northern Territory;

Willingness and ability to pass a Pre-employment Medical and Drug + Alcohol testing.
