Purpose of the Position Under the guidance of the ICT Manager, provide a leading role towards the coordinated development, maintenance and support of the Institute’s central data communication networks systems. Responsibilities of this position include the Institute’s Network & Server Infrastructure, Disaster Recovery systems, and network routing/security.
Duties
- Undertake other reasonable duties as directed by your line manager.
- Provide a leading role in maintaining and developing a reliable and secure network/server infrastructure for the Institute’s various IT systems. Answering Phone call and looking after ICT Helpdesk.
- Maintain and develop the Institute’s TCP/IP Wide Area Network through management and configuration of routers, firewalls, site to site VPN links and Internet connectivity.
- Manage the Institute’s multi-site Microsoft Active Directory Domain and Online Exchange configuration and topology. Manage related Local Area Network subnets, routing, domain controllers and messaging servers.
- Manage the Institutes various general server 2012/2016/2019/2022 Environments systems and associated server room equipment including server hardware and operating systems, storage area networks, rack equipment, uninterrupted power supply and backup systems.
- Manage staff reporting to the position as required, including allocation, monitoring and review of work and provision of appropriate training. Manage projects and teams as directed.
- Provide expert advice and assistance of ICT related technical and policy issues to the ICT team and Institute as required. Participate in various ICT related advisory and project committees of the Institute. Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in culturally diverse teams within the social, political, and cultural environments of Indigenous Australian families, communities, and organisations.
- Highly effective interpersonal skills including proficient written and oral communication which can be adapted to meet the needs of people from all educational levels.
- Ability to build robust relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated initiative and managing workload priorities and experience in project management.
- Understanding of Work Health and Safety principles and practices, and ability to comply with Institute WHS Policies and Procedures.
- Sound knowledge of the 3CX (Business Communications), Rucks WIFI, Ubiquity, Administer Microsoft 365 and Intune. Demonstrated experience and knowledge of firewall management, internet routing and VPN technology.
- Broad knowledge and experience in networks in a corporate environment. Experience in managing Ethernet/TCP-IP networks. Formal Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or equivalent industry experience in Computer Network Management and Systems administration including Domain and Active Directory.
- Extensive experience in managing windows servers. Installation, configuration and maintenance of server hardware, rack equipment, UPS, storage arrays, backup devices and other server room equipment.
- Sound knowledge with Cybersecurity, data protection and privacy obligations.
