Position Details Location: Tindal Health Centre – located at RAAF Base Tindal, Katherine NT Employment Opportunities: 1 × Permanent Full-Time Role, Monday–Friday: 0730–1600 Enjoy structured hours, early Friday finishes, and a schedule that supports work-life balance. About Us ADF Health Services delivers integrated healthcare services to Australian Defence Force personnel nationwide. Under this contract, Serco, in partnership with Bupa, provides defence-ready clinical and support staff across 50+ on-base locations—ensuring ADF members have access to high-quality, on-site healthcare. Together, we support those who serve Australia. About the Role As a Civilian Psychologist, you’ll be a key member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, supporting the complex and diverse mental health needs of active ADF personnel. Your Impact Will Include:
- Conducting comprehensive intakes and psychological assessments
- Delivering tailored, evidence-based psychological interventions
- Administering psychometric assessments within scope
- Managing your own caseload with professional autonomy
- Coordinating and overseeing externally referred cases
- Participating in crisis response, risk assessment, and management planning
- Collaborating within a supportive, multidisciplinary team This role offers flexibility to practice within your areas of interest while contributing directly to Defence capability and operational readiness. About the Location Darwin Health Centre sits within RAAF Base Darwin, which shares a runway with Darwin International Airport. The base plays a major role in annual Defence exercises across the Northern Territory. The centre:
- Supports a routine dependency of approximately 520 members
- Surges to an additional 1,500 Australian and international Defence personnel during major Air Force exercises
- Provides nursing, mental health, physiotherapy, and pharmaceutical services Operating hours are typically 0730–1600 Monday–Thursday, with a half day Friday (0730–1330). - Current, unconditional AHPRA registration as a Registered Psychologist
- Minimum 2 years’ post-graduate mental health experience (within past 5 years)
- Experience in psychological assessment and delivery of Focused Psychological Strategies
- Current CPR certificate (HLTAID009)
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and ADF Mental Health & Wellbeing Strategy (desirable)
- Australian Citizenship
