Continuing Full Time Appointment VET Teaching Focused Academic Level A Annual salary $76,604 – $114,924 pa + 17% superannuation and 6 weeks annual leave Katherine Town Campus| Larrakia Country Utilise your passion and experience in Agriculture & Rural Operations to teach students at Charles Darwin University (CDU). About the Position As the Lecturer – Agriculture & Rural Operations, you will contribute to the TAFE (VET) teaching and assessment programs in campus classrooms/workshops/remote areas and/or the workplace environment, working under the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) and VET Quality Framework and to the competency standards of the Agriculture, Horticulture and Conservation and Land Management Training Package (AHC). The position requires the timely and accurate completion of administrative tasks associated with training provisions including the maintenance of accurate student records. This position primarily focusses on delivery of short courses and face-to-face training for regional and remote communities and specialized cohorts in the Northern Territory. About You To be successful, you will require:
- Possess relevant agriculture or rural operations qualification/s and/or demonstrate relevant supervisory level practical industry work experience in Agriculture and Rural Production in the north Australian cattle industry
- Current qualification equivalent to a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or its successor) and the ability to obtain competencies in additional core units as required.
- Demonstrated experience providing training within a workplace setting or educational institution.
- Experience in researching and developing training tools to meet needs.
- Demonstrated high level interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate in a culturally sensitive manner.
- Previous experience working in a Team, flexible and sensible attitude when working with others.
- Competency with the Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software packages.
- Have confident skills with Livestock.
- Ability to camp in remote and isolated situations.
- Previous experience in flexible working environments
- Commitment to the University’s values. Desirable Competencies
- Demonstrate contemporary knowledge in teaching and assessment competencies, and conducting training in order to meet the requirements of nationally accredited training packages and/or accredited courses and the Australian VET Quality Framework for audit requirements within Australian Skills Quality Authority Framework (ASQA).
- Previous northern pastoral experience
- Stock handling certificates including non-accredited training
- Horse safety Australia qualifications.
- Possession of NT Truck license (HR) or equivalent. Remuneration Appointment to this role will be at Teaching Focused Academic Level A. The base salary will be in the range of $76,604 to $114,924 per annum. The total remuneration package will be in the range of $89,626 to $134,461 per annum, including 17% superannuation.
