ROLE – Mechanical Design Engineer

SALARY
- $120,000
- $140,000 per annum, dependent on experience

TYPE – Permanent

LOCATION – Adelaide, SA

My client designs a range of bespoke metal equipment. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Adelaide on a permanent basis.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes: At least 4 years of experience in a similar Mechanical Design Engineering position Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar Highly skilled with 3D CAD, ideally Inventor, SolidWorks, Fusion 360 etc. Previous experience working with metal materials – sheet metal, steelwork, aluminium, fabricated parts Valuable theoretical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances Solid practical skills with hand calculations, verification, validation, FEA, testing and prototyping Experienced designing products from concept to production Able to manage projects and work to deadlines and budgets Able to maintain technical documentation and BOM entry Able to work well individually as well as part of a team

The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve: Using CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings Managing the full product lifecycle from concept to production Collaborating with different departments to ensure the smooth delivery of projects Liasing with manufacturing providers Being involved in final assembly Creating required documentation for design and project reports Updating 3D models and drawings Inputting parts into the MRP system and creating BOMs Checking drawings for sign off Working in a small, multi-disciplinary team on diverse projects
