Introduction Food & Housekeeping Service Worker Location: Adelaide Employment type: Fixed term until June 2027 Salary: $35.58 per hour plus 12% superannuation (dependent on experience) This role is a part of Catherine House’s commitment to support women returning from homelessness by providing crisis, recovery and long‑term accommodation alongside outreach services, mental health, wellbeing, education and community connection. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on work, has strong organisational skills, and is passionate about contributing to the wellbeing of women in our community. Key responsibilities
- Planning and preparing fresh, healthy, and culturally sensitive meals
- Coordinating menus and maintaining food safety standards
- Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping and cleanliness across shared spaces
- Supporting residents to build independent living skills such as cooking and cleaning
- Collaborating with the team to ensure a safe, positive, and trauma‑informed environment This is a part‑time, fixed‑term role (19 hours per week), three days per week, 10.30am – 5.30pm. Skills and Experiences
- Certificate II in Kitchen Operations and a Food Safety Certificate
- Experience preparing nutritious meals and maintaining food safety standards
- Strong organisational skills and reliability
- Experience working with people with high‑level needs (desirable)
- A compassionate, trauma‑informed approach when supporting residents
