About the Role The Product Compliance Officer ensures all products meet global regulatory, environmental, safety, and technical standards. Working closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams, this role embeds compliance into product development and manages certification and regulatory requirements throughout the product lifecycle. The position oversees certification activities, regulatory documentation, supplier compliance, and coordination with external test laboratories to ensure products meet international standards including RoHS, REACH, EMC, CE/UKCA, FCC, IC, UL, Radio Equipment Regulations, and relevant defence requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Identify applicable regulatory requirements for each product and market.
- Develop and maintain compliance plans for recent and existing products.
- Monitor regulatory changes and assess impact on engineering and manufacturing.
- Manage certification and approval processes with external laboratories and agencies.
- Support engineering with test planning and pre‑compliance activities.
- Review and approve test reports, certificates, and regulatory documentation.
- Provide guidance on EMC, safety, radio, and environmental compliance.
- Ensure product labelling and documentation meet regulatory standards.
- Manage supplier declarations and component compliance records.
- Maintain technical files and audit‑ready compliance documentation.
- Support audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives. About You Candidates will hold qualifications in electronics, engineering, communications, RF, manufacturing, or a related technical discipline, along with experience working with global regulatory requirements for electronic products. A strong understanding of key standards such as RoHS, REACH, UL, FCC, IC, CE/UKCA, EMC, and RED is essential, together with experience managing testing and certification processes. The role requires the ability to interpret technical drawings and certification documentation, as well as exposure to ERP systems (SAP preferred) and an understanding of cybersecurity considerations in product compliance. A high level of attention to detail, a collaborative approach, and alignment with Codan’s values of being Can Do, High Performing, Customer Driven, and acting with Trust and Integrity are critical to success.
