Boilermakers The Position A Boilermaker at LAI Group will be required to read and interpret drawings and assist in welding sheet‑metal frames for switchboards or other electrical distributors, or large structural steel frames. You will be located at our recent facility in South Australia, Direk. Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot structures to identify and initiate repair of welding defects.
- Employ appropriate welding methods in completing metal and structural fabrications.
- Interpret technical drawings to layout the framework of a structure.
- Secure and fasten components using clamps, braces, jacks, and bolt straps.
- Inspect and evaluate welds to ensure they are free of defect and conform to standards and specifications. The Candidate The appropriate candidate will have the ability to understand and interpret welding specifications autonomously. They should be able to identify any issues or concerns and rectify it prior to the next stage. The successful applicant will preferably have:
- Commitment to safe work practices
- Good attention to detail
- Problem solving skills
- Have MIG welding experience
- Welder who has experience in fabrication and welding of steel Desired Competencies
- Certificate 3 in Engineering (Desirable, not a necessity)
- High Risk Work Licenses – LF Forklift License Schedule
- Full time and casual positions available: Monday – Friday & with overtime.
