**About the Teachers Registration Board**: The Teachers Registration Board (the TRB) is established under the _Teachers Registration and Standards Act 2004_ (the Act) and the _Teachers Registration and Standards Regulations 2021_ to regulate the teaching profession. The object of the Act is, in the public interest, to maintain a teacher registration system and professional standards for teachers to ensure its members are competent, fit and proper to have the care of children.

The TRB employs its own staff and is a public sector agency under the _Public Sector Act 2009_. The _South Australian Public Sector Salaried Employees Interim Award_ and the _South Australian Public Sector Enterprise Agreement: Salaried 2021_ governs the employment conditions of the Board.

The TRB is a self-funded statutory authority where financial planning, management and accountability of Teacher registration fees enables delivery of a broad range of agency functions.

**Role Description**

The Administration Support Officer
- Qualifications and Admissions provides high-level administrative support, particularly in relation to hearings, overseas qualification assessments and Admissions Sub-Committee meetings to assist Teachers wishing to register in South Australia, or renew their registration.

This role is offered at part time (0.4FTE), at the ASO3 Level and for a short-term contract of 12 months
- located in the heart of the Adelaide CBD.

**Role Summary**

The Administration Support Officer
- Qualifications and Admissions is accountable to the Manager, Registration for:

- Supporting, when directed, the Registration team across a range of registration day-to-day operations, focusing on general administrative tasks as required.
- Maintaining effective procedures to ensure the TRB meets whole-of-government and agency standards, legislative and best practice requirements.
- Contributing to the delivery and maintenance of efficient work practices within the TRB.

**Selection Criteria**

Communication and Interpersonal Skills
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills that result in effective and appropriate verbal and written communication with a range of people, including those from non-English speaking backgrounds.
- Ability to prepare pro-forma documentation under limited supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated, flexible, reliable and enthusiastic and exercise confidence, sensitivity and discretion in handling confidential matters and difficult clients.

Organisational Skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently with limited supervision and in a team to achieve agree objectives.
- Ability to work as part of a team harmoniously and effectively transfer knowledge to colleagues at all levels.
- Contributes to a culture of respect and high ethical standards.

Technical Skills
- Proven ability to manage sensitive information/data with respect and confidentiality, while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
- Proven ability to work effectively prioritising volumes of work and completing tasks within agreed timeframes.
- Experience in the delivery of administrative services to internal and external customers.
- Experience with managing databases in a business environment.

Continuous Improvement and Organisational Safety
