Your impact Jacobs currently have an exciting opportunity in Adelaide for a Senior Associate Mechanical Engineer. The Senior Associate Mechanical Engineer is responsible for providing and leading consultancy services, engineering services, technical input and direction in design in the ANZ region. This role will work alongside Principal Engineers, providing project delivery, design management and project management. This role will be instrumental in collaborating with commercial, project management, engineering and design technical leaders to create opportunities for Jacobs to plan, develop, deliver and operate a range of projects. The successful candidate will support the management of the team, in terms of team development and growth, building design capability and growing the portfolio. Here's what you'll need Key to this role will be:
- The leadership and interface with GID delivery centers in order to improve delivery capability to meet targets.
- Deliver technically excellent Mechanical engineering designs and consultancy services. Carry out independently design/review/assurance on Projects.
- Drive business development and be responsible for work winning, identify the next opportunities and support the win of the opportunities
- Bid preparation and submittals as required, support section leader, project managers in the delivery of financially successful projects.
- Develop and maintain strong key client relationships – act as a trusted advisor to a select group of Jacobs key clients across the public and private sector.
- Develop Jacobs’ capabilities and reputation in South East Asia, NZ and Australia by representing Jacobs at key thought leadership events.
- Collaborate closely with Jacobs’s client management team to identify emerging opportunities with clients
- Manage complex and/or multidisciplinary projects in both PM and DPE roles delivering on cost, on time, and resulting in client satisfaction.
- Provide design management functions on projects.
- Maintain compliance with Jacobs QA procedures, including the deliverables review QA process.
- Mentor and facilitate the technical development of more junior resources to meet market requirements.
- Engage with high performers in a team environment to facilitate knowledge sharing and coaching.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to deliver goals and targets of the team, section and PU.
- Support growth in delivery through emerging technologies including digital solutions.
- Promote safety culture within the organisation and with our clients.

- Lead the team at meetings. Ensure tasks undertaken are understood completely before stating. Touch base with Team/Section Lead periodically to ensure that you are on the right track. Monitor time taken as well as forward workload to ensure that Lead is aware of any upcoming capability.
- Meet and balance scope of deliverables with time allocation.
