Project Engineer - Structural Steel (Adelaide)

Project Engineer – Structural Steel Working closely with the Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the coordination and delivery of large-scale commercial construction projects. The role offers solid exposure across technical, commercial and programme management, supporting projects from early procurement through to final delivery. This position suits an experienced Project Engineer who enjoys owning work packages, working closely with site teams, and contributing to technically complex builds. The role:
- Work collaboratively with the Project Manager, site teams and client stakeholders
- Coordinate and deliver allocated project packages from procurement through to completion
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers and consultants across multiple work fronts
- Maintain cost control, forecasting and reporting, including identifying and managing variations
- Assist with programming, sequencing and short-term planning
- Liaise with consultants and designers on coordination, value engineering and design development
- Ensure works are delivered in line with safety, quality and programme requirements About you:
- 5–7 years’ experience as a Project Engineer within commercial construction
- Proven Australian project experience is essential
- Strong background delivering large-scale commercial projects
- Structural steel experience within Australia is essential
- Established capability managing subcontractors with a focus on OHS, quality, programme and contracts
- Robust ability to read and interpret engineering and construction documentation
- Solid cost management, reporting and analytical skills
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management capability
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and construction reporting systems What’s on offer:
