Our dedicated and experienced team understands that debt recovery must be prompt, cost-effective and strategic. We act for both unsecured and secured creditors alike. We are recognised as being experts with the Personal Property Securities Act (PPSA) and advise a large range of clients from small businesses to publicly listed companies. We are on the lookout for a motivated and detail-oriented Legal Administration Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to our legal team in all aspects of legal proceedings. The team member will work closely with our solicitors, clients, and other legal professionals to ensure that all legal matters are handled efficiently and effectively. Responsibilities:
- Managing a portfolio of legal matters (under the supervision of a solicitor).
- Drafting and reviewing legal documents (under the supervision of a solicitor).
- Issuing of legal matters, and enforcement processes (under the supervision of a solicitor).
- File management, including client and third party communication;
- Liaising with courts and bailiffs;
- Liaising with process servers;
- Electronic and manual filing;
- Brief preparation;
- Performing other administrative tasks as requested;
- Maintaining and protecting the legal professional privilege of the clients of the firm;
- Maintaining confidentiality of OB bank account, credit card and PIN information;
- Be aware of and diligently conduct duties in line with the company’s quality objectives, compliance and regulatory requirements, and, security responsibilities.
- Expectation of an attitude of a willingness to learn new methods and procedures, be flexible to adjust to quickly changing legal circumstances and accept Oakbridge values of a co-operative and respectful workplace. Qualifications:
- Previous experience in an administration role
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal research databases
