The National Wine Centre of Australia (NWC) is one of Adelaide's leading hospitality and event venues situated in the vibrant East End of the CBD, in close proximity to the emerging Lot Fourteen precinct and new hotels in the area. Our unique architectural building is surrounded by the green space of the Adelaide Botanic Gardens and parklands and plays host to over 800 events per year attracting international, national and local visitors. Events include conferences, weddings, banquets, meetings and seminars. The NWC is a showcase and focal point for Australia's wine industry and as such, it has become a beloved landmark for food and wine lovers across the country who have engaged in the range of wine tourism and event experiences on offer. Reporting to the Executive Chef, we are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis in the role of Chef de Partie. The Chef de Partie works across kitchen sections as required, taking responsibility for the quality of food production, presentation and plating. Day-to-day duties include preparing mise en place, upholding hygiene and safety standards, and minimising waste and spoilage. The role contributes to menu planning and development, with an eye on seasonal availability and produce trends. The Chef de Partie also plays an active role in delivering special events and themed functions and provides guidance and support to junior team members. The successful candidate will be creative and have the practical skills to ensure high quality delivery. The candidate will also possess the following attributes and capabilities:
- Proven experience running a kitchen section in a similar venue
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team setting
- Composure and reliability under pressure
- Initiative and self-motivation
