In this role, you will lead and deliver electrical engineering studies, designs, and specifications across a diverse range of infrastructure and building projects. You will work with minimal supervision, provide high-level technical consultancy, guide junior engineers, and manage projects and proposals as a true “seller/doer.”This position involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams and requires strong design expertise across electrical services for new construction, upgrades, and modifications including LV/HV power distribution, lighting, security systems, ICT infrastructure, and renewable energy integration.**Key Responsibilities****Technical Leadership & Design*** Lead, contribute to, and perform electrical engineering studies and detailed designs for buildings and infrastructure projects.* Deliver electrical services designs including internal/external lighting, LV distribution and reticulation, passive ICT infrastructure, security systems, backup power systems, and solar PV integration.* Prepare, verify, and self-check electrical design calculations using both manual and software assisted methods.* Guide designers and drafters in the preparation of drawings; review and approve documentation.* Prepare and review reports, technical specifications, and project documentation.**Project & Stakeholder Management*** Lead project teams to deliver major electrical work packages on large multidisciplinary projects.* Manage small to medium multidisciplinary building services projects end-to-end.* Liaise confidently with clients, statutory authorities, and external consultants to negotiate critical technical issues.* Support proposal preparation, project budgeting, and delivery to quality, cost, and time requirements.* Build and maintain a network of client contacts; participate in business development and marketing activities.**Team Mentoring & Collaboration*** Provide technical assistance, guidance, and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.* Work collaboratively with mechanical, structural, hydraulic, civil, and other building services teams to deliver integrated solutions.**Qualifications & Skills****Required*** Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).* Chartered Engineer / CPEng / RPEQ registration, or ability to obtain within 6 months.* 10+ years’ experience as an electrical engineer within the built environment or infrastructure sectors.* Demonstrated practical and theoretical expertise in electrical engineering.* Proven experience in commercial or consulting environments.* Strong skills in concept and detailed design across a broad range of electrical systems.* Ability to manage and deliver complex projects with multidisciplinary teams.* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write technical content fluently.**Highly Regarded*** Experience leading large Defence DSC electrical projects.* Exposure to business development, proposal writing, and marketing activities.* Strong background in project and design management, including budget management.At KBR, we value you – here’s how.While our people are busy delivering leading science, technology, and engineering solutions, we’re committed to providing them with a supportive, trusting environment and benefits that enable them to thrive and continue doing what they do best.**Benefits include:*** Industry leading salaries reviewed annually.* 20 Days of annual leave per year + the ability to accrue an additional 8 hours every 4 weeks (33 days in total)* Flexible work arrangements (start/finish times, WFH, Flex time)* Salary packaging and novated leases* Paid professional membership fees* Life/Health insurance discounts* Employee stock purchase plans* Personal career development plans* Growth and promotion opportunities* Great office environment with fantastic facilities* Access to health advantages programsHelp shape tomorrow by applying today!Our people are the heart of everything we do.
