Construction & Maintenance Leading Hand (Adelaide)

Role Overview Flinders Port Holdings Civil and Construction team plays a key role in maintaining and improving critical port infrastructure across our sites. With a strong pipeline of ongoing works and continued investment in plant and equipment, the team delivers a wide range of civil maintenance and construction activities. Key Responsibilities
- Support the Civil Team Leader in the coordination and delivery of civil maintenance and project works on site;
- Act as a hands on leader, actively participating in daily tasks including the use of tools and operation of civil equipment;
- Provide daily direction and support to team members during task execution, ensuring work is carried out safely and efficiently;
- Promote safety by identifying hazards, managing contractors, and fostering a positive safety culture;
- Conduct daily toolbox meetings and pre-start briefings to communicate work plans and safety priorities;
- Provide support to the Civil Team Leader and step into the role as required to ensure continuity of supervision and work coordination during absences. Qualifications
- Civil Construction trade qualifications or significant civil experience;
- Essential licences – excavator, front end loader, skid steer, and HR or HC licence, with ability to obtain others as needed;
- White Card and valid Driver's Licence;
- Experience and ability to lead small teams when required, work collaboratively in a multi-skilled team, and communicate effectively with others;
- Strong understanding of WHS practices, JSEAs, hazard identification, and incident reporting is essential;
- Reliable, proactive, and able to manage time well with minimal supervision. Advantages
