**About Us**
The South Australian Metropolitan Fire Service (MFS) Is responsible for protecting the South Australian community from the effects of fire, road crashes, chemical incidents and other emergencies. We are a team of approximately 1,300 operational personnel and corporate professionals serving the Community across 20 metropolitan and 17 regional fire stations.
**About the role**
The Manager, Media and Corporate Communications will lead the MFS in innovative and effective marketing, communication, media management, public relations. for the position will lead the development of a broad range of communications materials, publications and documents that support the effective management of emergency incidents and public safety issues.
The Media and Communications Manager provides expert advice and guidance to MFS staff and managers to ensure the delivery of communications outcomes that meet corporate objectives and comply with all relevant legislation and guidelines.
**About you**
- Extensive experience in corporate communications, public relations, media management, and crisis communications.
- Strategic thinker with a proven ability to manage complex communications projects and campaigns in high-pressure environments.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, excelling in building effective relationships and collaborating with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Expertise in developing creative solutions for public affairs, media issues, and reputational risk management.
- Proven ability to provide strategic advice and deliver high-quality communications materials aligned with operational and strategic objectives.
- Passionate about public safety and committed to enhancing the public profile of MFS.
- Proactive in driving continuous improvement in internal communications, digital services, and policy development.
- Ability to manage both routine and crisis communications effectively.
- Dedicated to supporting MFS’s mission of protecting and empowering the South Australian community.
**Remuneration**: ASO7 $108,109
