During this internship, you’ll gain exposure to a range of transport, buildings, and Defence infrastructure projects, supporting the design of fire service systems across Australia, with a solid focus on South Australia. In this role, you’ll work alongside experienced engineers and specialists, learning the fundamentals of fire protection engineering within a collaborative project environment. You’ll assist with the design of fire safety systems, develop an understanding of relevant codes and standards, and contribute to fire risk assessments and technical documentation under guidance. You’ll build practical experience by supporting project delivery, learning how fire safety considerations influence building materials, layouts, and overall performance. Throughout the internship, you’ll be encouraged to ask questions, share ideas, and develop problem‑solving skills while gaining hands‑on exposure to real‑world engineering challenges. This internship is designed to help you build a strong technical foundation and provide insight into a future career in fire protection and building services engineering.
