Overview Based in the School of Physics, Chemistry and Earth Sciences, City East Campus. Salary Range: $114,917
- $135,932 per annum (plus 17% superannuation). The role involves shaping next‑generation gravitational wave detectors. Responsibilities
- Drive innovation in next‑generation gravitational wave detectors, including Cosmic Explorer, contributing to breakthroughs that expand our understanding of the universe.
- Collaborate with the experimental physics group on internationally recognised research programmes and major global collaborations.
- Support teaching and research with leading scientists and global partners.
- Lead future Australian efforts in the Cosmic Explorer Collaboration. Qualifications & Experience
- A PhD in experimental physics, or an equivalent higher degree, in an area that aligns with or augments existing and emerging strengths in experimental physics.
- A commitment to excellence in relevant areas of experimental physics, particularly the development of gravitational wave instrumentation and future detectors such as Cosmic Explorer.
- Demonstrated publication track record in relevant areas of experimental physics in leading academic journals.
- A robust interest in and commitment to the delivery of quality undergraduate education.
- Experience in and/or enthusiasm for the supervision of graduate students.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research in addition to working effectively as a member of a research team in a complex setting.
