The Role As the Block Machine Operator based in our Pooraka site, you will take ownership of the end-to-end production process, from raw material batching through to finished product including batching, mixing, and block production via automated systems (blocks, bricks, pavers, retaining walls). You’ll be working with a high-volume, fast-cycle process ensuring consistent output, product quality, and efficient machine performance. This is a full-time afternoon shift role, working Monday to Friday from 2:30pm to 11:00pm, with one RDO per month and overtime opportunities available. Whether you bring experience or a strong mechanical mindset and willingness to learn, we offer full training, a supportive team environment and genuine opportunities for development. What you’ will do:
- Operate and monitor the automated batching and mixing system, including loading and managing mix designs
- Control the flow of raw materials (sand, aggregates, etc.) from bins through to production
- Oversee the block machine operation, including mould setup, product changeovers and cycle optimisation
- Monitor and maintain product quality standards (mix ratios, moisture content and colour consistency) and conduct wet line and dry line quality checks and routine inspections
- Identify faults, perform troubleshooting, make adjustments and assist with preventative maintenance and in-house repairs
- Support downstream processes including transfer to kiln and handover to recovery/production teams
- Complete end-of-shift clean-down and equipment maintenance What you’ll bring: We’re open to candidates with varying levels of experience

- Computer skills and willingness to learn computer-controlled systems and automation
- Knowledge of manufacturing, concrete, or masonry production desirable
