Perks that matter – corporate benefits and exclusive savings with popular brands. A values‐led culture – where team contributions are recognised, and your career growth is championed. What you'll do You'll help shape how AI fits into our delivery workflow, the systems, guardrails, and practices that let AI take on more of the work without dropping quality. This is central to the role, not a side project. You'll own significant features end‐to‐end across the stack, and set the direction on our frontend, a hybrid AngularJS/Angular codebase being progressively modernised. Support production alongside the team, monitoring, incidents and live workloads. There's no ops team; we own what we ship. You'll make architectural and technical decisions, not just implement them, and contribute to engineering standards. The frontend is where you'll have the most room to lead. The backend is in good shape, with engineers already operating at the level you'll bring. Who we're looking for You've shipped and operated production software for years, not just written code, but owned systems through incidents, deployments gone wrong, the slow accumulation of technical debt, and the lessons that come with all of it. You can talk about a system you've kept running for years, and you have opinions about what made it durable. You have strong frontend depth, Angular and TypeScript in production, not just tutorials, and you're comfortable working in a hybrid codebase where some of the code is old and some of it isn't, and where modernisation has to happen alongside delivery. You're equally comfortable on the backend. You've shipped production Java (or a close equivalent, Kotlin, C#, Go), you understand relational data modelling, and you can reason about API and service design. You think in failure modes. You can defend why a particular test exists, and you can equally defend why a different test shouldn't. You understand the difference between tests that protect production and tests that exist for the sake of coverage numbers, and you're not precious about either. You're comfortable in ambiguity. You can figure out what good looks like in spaces where it hasn't been defined yet, rather than waiting for someone to tell you. You think practically about AI in software delivery. You don't need to be at the cutting edge, but you should already be thinking about where AI is reliable, where it isn't, what guardrails matter, where humans add judgement AI can't, and how to iterate workflows as the capability improves. Our stack Frontend: TypeScript, Angular (with AngularJS legacy being migrated) AWS: ECS, ECR, Lambda, S3, EC2, RDS Data: MySQL/Aurora, Redis Infrastructure: Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK, Docker CI/CD: GitHub Actions and Workflows Testing: JUnit and Spring Test (backend); Jest, Jasmine and Karma (frontend); plus integration and e2e where they earn their keep Mobile: React Native / Expo (occasional touchpoints) Nice to have Experience embedding AI tools into actual production workflows (beyond code completion) Mobile development with React Native / Expo Background in workforce management, scheduling or operational systems What to expect This is feature delivery work. AI workflow improvements emerge from the friction you hit while building; that's where the best ideas come from, and that's where we expect them to come from here. We're a small, senior team scaling up: a handful of established engineers, hiring more. We expect you to bring opinions and shape what good looks like as much as you implement against it. Why You'll Love Working Here At Quartex, we know even minor issues can lead to major problems in the industries we serve.
