Work Schedule Standard (Mon-Fri) Environmental Conditions Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance. Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards. Cleanroom: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair, etc. Loud noises (equipment/machinery) and some degree of PPE required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs, etc.). Robust odors (chemical, lubricants, biological products, etc.). Work with hazardous/toxic materials. Job Description As a Production Team Leader in manufacturing operations for the MBD Adelaide Thermo Fisher Scientific site, you will guide and develop a high‐performing team while ensuring excellence in safety, quality, and production efficiency. You will coordinate department activities across shifts to meet production schedules and equipment efficiency requirements while maintaining adherence to GMP standards. Working closely with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance and other support functions, you will lead continuous improvement initiatives, optimize workflows, and cultivate a culture of safety and quality excellence. You will manage daily production activities, conduct performance reviews, provide coaching and training, and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements while maintaining optimal cost‐benefit ratios. Responsibilities Own and drive a culture of "Safety First and Right First Time and On Time." Maintain a safe work environment, a high level of safety awareness among associates, and implement 5S principles. Ensure products are manufactured with the highest level of quality in a safe, compliant, and timely manner that meets or exceeds customer expectations. Monitor, review, and improve manufacturing and quality related activities; drive investigations and corrective and preventative actions. Lead daily stand‐up meeting (Tier 1) and appropriately escalated issues. Co‐ordinate workload and workflow of the team; perform all duties of a Manufacturing Technician as production demands, including preparation and communication of the daily team schedule. Assess and ensure all staff are trained to the required competency level (including the latest version of the SOP) prior to hands‐on task involvement. Lead, assist, and participate in investigations, projects, and validation as required. Actively participate in the EHS system by adhering to policies and procedures and reporting hazards to ensure a safe and healthy workplace environment. Lead and participate in PPI activities (Kaizens and JDIs) and regularly utilize continuous improvement methodologies in daily work. Lead a successful team by ensuring direct reports take accountability for their work and their development. Solve moderate to complex problems within process guidelines and guide others to do the same. Facilitate positive team dynamics, including resolving differences in opinion or approach. Listen, support, engage, and encourage employee suggestions and input to achieve excellent results while driving a culture of accountability. Qualifications Demonstrated experience in a manufacturing organization in a similar role, implementing operational continuous improvements including lean manufacturing/demand flow, visual management, and daily management. Experience driving teams, processes, and facilitating improved performance, production control & scheduling, and safety systems management. Excellent troubleshooting and root‐cause analysis capabilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for leading teams and interfacing with stakeholders.
