We are currently delivering a new strategy focused on prevention, financial sustainability and strengthening our connection with the South Australian community. About the role We are seeking to appoint a Board Director to join our engaged and purpose‐driven Board. This is an opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction, governance and long‐term sustainability of a well‐known and trusted organisation, while supporting a period of ongoing transformation and growth. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas: Veterinary business management Fundraising, philanthropy and corporate partnerships Marketing, digital communications and brand Change management and organisational transformation Community engagement and stakeholder engagement We are also committed to broadening the diversity of our Board and strongly encourage applications from individuals with diverse backgrounds, experiences and perspectives. What you'll bring A genuine commitment to animal welfare and community impact Strategic thinking and the ability to contribute at a governance level Robust judgement, integrity and the ability to engage constructively The confidence to both support and challenge appropriately Previous Board experience is valued but not essential Opportunities Contribute to a purpose‐driven organisation with real and visible impact Play a role in shaping the future direction of AWL SA Work alongside a committed and cooperative Board Build or deepen your governance experience in a supportive workplace Commitment & remuneration Board meetings are held regularly (typically quarterly), with additional subcommittee involvement as required.
