Performance Analyst | South Australian Sports Institute 13 November **** | Analysis The Performance Analyst is responsible for supporting the SASI Performance Support team within Movement Science, to deliver performance analysis expertise to SASI coaches and athletes, with a focus on team sports. The Performance Analyst is responsible for planning, researching, collecting data, delivering feedback and applying specialist skills to improve elite athlete development, with guidance from senior practitioners. The successful candidate will be able to effectively communicate and disseminate information to optimise performance outcomes, in accordance with the aims and objectives of SASI. Key Outcomes of the Role Work as an effective member of an interdisciplinary team to deliver performance analysis support and maintain a positive team culture. Monitor research and technology with specific regard to performance analysis and encourage evidence‐informed practice. Deliver quality performance and training information to coaches and athletes. Work with coaches to prioritise training interventions and testing relating to performance analysis. Provide support for existing Movement Sciences staff, while retaining the ability to work autonomously when required. Maximise athletic performance by establishing, designing, implementing and interpreting performance analysis protocols in consultation with other Performance Analysts, sports scientists, coaches and athletes. Provide feedback via video, reports with technical and tactical information and statistical data to coaches and other support staff. Collect performance data during training and competition to better understand sport performance. Contribute to and maintain databases of performance results. Provide high‐quality analysis of training and competition to coaches and athletes using the most appropriate technology platforms. Collaborate on applied research projects which contribute to the effectiveness of the athlete and coach in training and competition. Keep up to date with the scientific literature and contribute to the Australian Institute of Sport Sports Medicine Network. Provide a high‐quality, targeted service to a range of SASI sports. Maintain appropriate professional standards, as recommended by the Australian Institute of Sport's National Quality Standards Scheme (NQSS) program. Establish and maintain effective partnerships with other professional organisations. Maintain connection and engage with other sports science staff and the National Institute Network within Australia. Essential Requirements Experience in the provision of applied Performance Analysis and experience interacting with high‐performance coaches and athletes. Demonstrated technical expertise in the applied use of technology in sport. Demonstrated ability to contribute strongly within a multi‐disciplinary team as well as the ability to work independently and possess a high level of personal initiative and autonomy. Highly developed communication skills and proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships both internally and externally with a diverse range of stakeholders. Familiar with the concepts and requirements of the National Quality Standards Scheme (NQSS). Demonstrated ability to work respectfully and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and an understanding of Aboriginal cultural values and social issues, ensuring programs and services are accessible and meet Aboriginal community needs. Demonstrated commitment to communicating and facilitating cultural change by influencing staff and athletes to actively engage and exhibit behaviours reflecting the SASI values. Displays resilience, courage and actively seeks, reflects and acts on feedback on own performance. Provide timely, constructive and objective feedback to athletes and staff. Engage staff, athletes and other key stakeholders in change processes and provide clear guidance, coaching and support. Bachelor's degree in Exercise, Sports or Movement Science. ESSA Accredited Sport Scientist (ASpS) Level 1. Special Conditions The role has been classified as a position of trust and a 'prescribed position' under the Child Safety (Prohibited Persons) Act ****. Incidentally, the incumbent is subject to a satisfactory Department of Human checks. The Incumbent will be required to participate in the Agency's Performance Management Program. The Incumbent may be assigned to another position at this remuneration level or equivalent. Some work outside of normal hours will be required. Some interstate travel involving overnight absences will be required. This role requires a working with children check.
