Operating from our HACCP-accredited facilities, we deliver high-quality meals through our café operations and community food delivery service. We are seeking a passionate Chef to join our team. Accountable to the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for quality food control primarily within our café, while occasionally supporting our broader food delivery program. This is a full‐time, ongoing position based at our Holden Hill facility. Main Tasks Lead the meal preparation and cooking activities for the Café, ensuring all food and beverages meet standard recipes and quality benchmarks. Deliver training to Café Assistants in daily tasks, customer service, and food safety during their orientation and ongoing development. Ensure customers are served in a timely manner, maintaining strict compliance with portion control and presentation standards to minimise wastage. Maintain personal adherence to OHS procedures, HACCP National Standards, and food safety plans. Report any equipment malfunctions to the Executive Chef. Assist with inventory management and ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned, operated safely, and maintained in good working order. Support the implementation of new cooking techniques and equipment, participating in trials to maximise kitchen safety and efficiency. Maintain collaborative relationships with staff and volunteers, acting as a role model and demonstrating a problem‐solving approach to daily operations. Required/Relevant Qualifications & Work Experience Minimum of a relevant Certificate IV in Kitchen Management or higher qualification. At least one year of relevant experience in a commercial kitchen. Experience or understanding of food issues affecting older people, including diverse cultural and spiritual backgrounds (CALD). Required/Relevant Skills & Knowledge Strong understanding of the Food Safety Act, HACCP guidelines, and OHS Act ****. Knowledge of secure food storage, correct handling techniques, and kitchen hygiene practices. Interpersonal skills with the ability to manage skilled kitchen documentation and communicate effectively with the team. A proven commitment to high‐standard customer service and a qualified approach to handling requests or complaints. Must provide a satisfactory National Police Check, a valid Driver's Licence, and copies of relevant qualifications. Annual salary will be between $65,****** to $75,****** (plus superannuation) depending on level of experience.
