Role: Resident Art Therapist Location: Unley, SA Employment Type: Permanent Part-Time 4 days per week (flexible days) The purpose of the Resident Art Therapist is to facilitate art-based activities within the Living Arts program. The role provides young people with appropriate, trauma‐informed and therapeutic services in a safe and supportive environment. The Resident Art Therapist is also responsible for ensuring tailored and individual programs are developed to assist young people with complex needs, including those receiving NDIS services. Current registration with The Australian, New Zealand and Asian Creative Arts Therapies Association (ANZACATA) Current Child Safe Environments (Through Their Eyes) Certificate (refresher after 3 years) Demonstrated experience in working with children and young people and families who are subject to child protection intervention and an understanding of current casework practice. Demonstrated experience working with individuals, families and communities from a strength‐based, culturally appropriate perspective that are part of child, youth & family sector. Demonstrated experience in identifying an individual's strengths and areas for improvement within the context of a family environment. Demonstrated experience in working within a multi‐disciplinary team. Demonstrated understanding of impact of trauma and attachment on children and young people and complex behaviours. Current Driver's Licence First Aid Certificate Key Responsibilities Coordinate and facilitate art‐based therapeutic activities for young people with high and complex needs who may also be transitioning out of care. Delivery may be 1:1 or in a group setting. Participate in the development of quality plans for all clients as appropriate to their needs and individual goals and the implementation and review of those plans. Coordinate and monitor young person's progress to ensure it is line with the agreed case plan. Interpret client artwork and behaviours using a clinical assessment lens to monitor progress, recognise psychological trends, and adjust treatment plans. Collaborate with other care team members to provide holistic support of children and young people. Collaborate respectfully with alternate carers of children (foster carers and kinship carers) to support individual goals whenever possible. Support reporting and accreditation tasks for the National Disability Insurance Service (NDIS). Support the development and implementation of necessary risk assessments, cultural support plans, safety plans, and behavioural support plans. Maintain up‐to‐date documentation, including care renewals, care agreements, and other records. Keep comprehensive and accurate case notes and other records as required by LWB and legal obligations. Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and relevant Working with Children Checks.
