Systems Engineer (Adelaide)

Overview Raytheon Australia is seeking a bright and energized Systems Engineer for the Projects Integrated Project Team. This hybrid role supports the development and integration of Submarine Combat Systems with a focus on innovation and technology integration. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement product solutions for integration into the Combat System. Lead and conduct product verification and validation activities, ensuring alignment with design specifications. Generate and maintain product design certification documentation in accordance with system product specifications. Provide engineering support to transition products into service. Conduct technical risk analysis and lead junior engineers to facilitate documentation and execution of verification and validation activities. Run major reviews throughout the project lifecycle, including peer reviews, preliminary and detailed design reviews, and test readiness reviews. Mentor junior team members in systems engineering methodology, tools, and procedures. Qualifications & Experience Degree qualified in a relevant Engineering discipline and eligible to hold Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) standing with a level of Design Authority delegation to support system Design Certification activities. Minimum 4 years' experience in Systems Engineering involving requirements definition, management, analysis, design, integration and verification across one or more fields such as Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Communication, Software, or Combat/RF Systems. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders at client, peer, supplier, and senior leadership levels. Knowledge of project management milestones and capacity to work autonomously or with minimal supervision to deliver completed work according to scheduled commitments. Availability to undertake travel as required. Eligible to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to Negative Vetting 1 level. Desirable: Experience within Defence or a highly regulated industry. Experience with Microsoft and Atlassian tool suites (Teams, JIRA, Confluence). Experience with scientific or engineering documentation and test engineering processes and procedures. Experience with Linux operating systems, networking and technical problem solving.
