The Chief Security Officer / Chief Information Security Officer (CSO/CISO) is responsible for leading the organisation’s enterprise-wide cybersecurity, compliance, and risk management strategy, with a robust focus on transforming the company into a Defence‑grade, Secure‑by‑Design workplace. Reporting to the CEO, the role oversees the development of security governance frameworks aligned to Essential 8, DISP, NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, and sovereign security expectations. The position acts as the executive owner for DISP compliance across personnel, physical, and ICT domains, while ensuring security controls are embedded across operational and product lifecycles. The role also leads audits, accreditation activities, security architecture, incident response, risk management, and third‑party compliance. The position requires an experienced senior cybersecurity leader with deep expertise across governance, secure engineering, risk, and regulatory compliance in high‑assurance or Defence‑related environments. A major focus is driving security maturity across hardware, firmware, and software development practices through Secure‑by‑Design principles, secure development lifecycle management, vulnerability management, and threat monitoring capabilities.
