The role independently coordinates complex casework, provides expert evidence in court, and serves as a recognised point of reference for forensic document examination expertise. The position also ensures compliance with quality and legal standards, and contributes to research, mentoring, and the advancement of best practice within the discipline. Responsibilities

- Employment‑related screening check required.
- Some out of hours work may be required.
- Some interstate and intrastate travel may be required.
- A degree in a relevant scientific discipline.
- Effectively embed AGD People and Leadership Expectations into all actions, activities and work processes.
- Participate in bi‑annual Performance Development Plan (PDP).
- Proactively seek learning opportunities, including the timely completion of all mandatory training requirements.
- Comply with the Code of Ethics for the South Australian Public Sector, relevant legislation and AGD policies and procedures.
- Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate (NPC) and Extended Police Check (EPC) that the AGD finds satisfactory.
- Forms are not to be lodged directly with SA Police (SAPOL) under any circumstances and any fees incurred by applicants in doing so will not be recoverable from the AGD.
