Description
Job Overview As a Production Team Leader in manufacturing operations at the MBD Adelaide site, you will guide and develop a high‑performing team while ensuring excellence in safety, quality, and production efficiency. You will coordinate department activities across shifts to meet production schedules and maintain adherence to GMP standards. Responsibilities
- Own and drive a culture of "Safety First and Right First Time and On Time"
- Maintain a safe work environment, high level of safety awareness among associates, and implement 5S principles.
- Ensure products are manufactured with the highest level of quality in a safe, compliant, and timely manner that meets or exceeds customer expectations.
- Monitor, review, and improve manufacturing and quality related activities; lead investigations, corrective and preventive actions.
- Lead daily stand‑up meetings (Tier 1) and appropriately escalated issues.
- Coordinate the workload and workflow of the team and perform all tasks of a Manufacturing Technician as production demands, including preparation and communication of daily schedules.
- Assess and ensure all staff are trained to the required competency level (including the latest SOP) prior to hands‑on tasks.
- Lead, assist, and participate in investigations, projects, and validation as required.
- Actively participate in the EHS system by adhering to policies and reporting hazards to ensure a safe and healthy workplace.
- Lead and participate in PPI activities (Kaizens, JDIs) and regularly apply continuous improvement methodologies in daily work.
- Ensure direct reports take accountability for their work and development.
- Solve moderate to complex problems within process guidelines and guide others to do the same.
- Facilitate positive team dynamics, including resolving differences in opinion or approach.
- Listen, support, engage, and encourage employee suggestions and input to achieve excellent results while driving a culture of accountability. Qualifications We are looking for a candidate with demonstrated experience in a manufacturing organization in a similar role, implementing operations continuous improvements, including lean manufacturing/demand flow, Visual Management, and Daily Management. Experience with driving teams, processes, and facilitating improved performance, production control & scheduling and safety systems management is required. The candidate will also require excellent troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis capabilities, as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills for leading teams and interfacing with stakeholders. Environmental Conditions
- Ability to lift 40 lbs. without assistance.
- Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) safety standards.
- Cleanroom requirements: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair, etc.
- Exposure to loud noises (equipment/machinery).
- Work in an office, some degree of PPE (personal protective equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs, etc.).
- Exposure to solid odors (chemical, lubricants, biological products, etc.).
- Will work with hazardous/toxic materials. Benefits
