The Head Of Hardware Engineering Adelaide

The Head of Hardware Engineering is responsible for leading the architecture, delivery, and full lifecycle management of the company’s hardware products, from concept and prototyping through to in‑house manufacturing, deployment, sustainment, and retirement. This is a technical leadership “player‑coach” role combining strategic oversight with hands‑on engineering involvement, including schematic and PCB reviews in Altium when required. The role acts as the hardware design authority, setting engineering standards and leading reviews across schematic design, PCB layout, EMC, DFM/DFT, and production readiness, while collaborating closely with firmware, software, industrial design, manufacturing, and security teams to deliver secure, manufacturable Defence‑aligned products. The role requires an experienced hardware engineering leader with robust embedded systems expertise, experience delivering commercial hardware products, and deep knowledge of wireless technologies, high‑speed interfaces, and design‑for‑manufacture practices. The successful candidate will mentor engineers, improve engineering processes, support in‑house manufacturing and supplier engagement, and ensure solid documentation and IP retention across the product lifecycle.
