What you will do as the Senior Assurance and Integrity Officer
- Assist in providing authoritative and strategic advice to senior leaders and internal stakeholders on fraud and corruption control, Public Interest Disclosures, integrity matters, and relevant legislative and policy frameworks, including complex issues management.
- Assist the team’s Fraud Control and Assurance function, including developing team capability to prevent, detect and investigate internal fraud, corruption, misconduct and integrity matters in accordance with the Commonwealth Fraud and Corruption Control Framework and Public Interest Disclosure legislation.
- Assist the planning and delivery of a risk-based fraud and integrity assurance program to identify control weaknesses, detect anomalous behaviour and strengthen the agency’s fraud and integrity control setting.
- Assist control assurance activities to provide independent assurance that fraud, corruption and integrity controls are effectively designed and operating, and report outcomes to senior management and relevant governance committees.
- Assist the receipt, assessment and investigation of alleged internal fraud, corruption, misconduct and Public Interest Disclosures, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, procedural fairness, confidentiality and reprisal risk management obligations.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and external counterparts, including other Commonwealth agencies, and manage governance and reporting responsibilities associated with the team’s Fraud Control and Assurance function. About you
- Proven experience in fraud and corruption control, integrity management, investigations, assurance, or a closely related discipline relevant to this role.
- Demonstrated capability in handling complex and sensitive matters.
- Demonstrated experience in contributing to Public Interest Disclosures, integrity matters, or other sensitive complaints or investigations, with a sound understanding of confidentiality, procedural fairness, and reprisal risk management.
- Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills, with the ability to exercise sound judgement and deliver practical, risk-based advice on complex and sensitive issues to senior leaders.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including the capacity to prepare high-quality advice, reports, and briefings, and to convey complex or sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences.
- Possession of a Diploma in Government (Fraud Control) and/or Diploma in Government (Investigation), or the willingness and ability to obtain relevant qualifications within 12 months of commencement, will be highly regarded.
