- Greenfield Mining Project Lead transition of processing plant from construction to operational status. Adelaide based with travel to site as required. About the client Rex Minerals is an Australian mining company dedicated to the development of its flagship A$1.0B Copper‑Gold Hillside Project located on the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia. The project will be a significant contributor to the South Australian economy and will provide employment opportunities for locals and for those looking to move to the Yorke Peninsula. Hillside is located 150km from Adelaide and is one of the largest undeveloped copper and gold projects in Australia. Stage1 of the project is fully approved and early‑stage site access work has commenced. Further site work and awarding of contracts and building the team to execute the project will continue over the next quarter. About the role The Manager Operational Readiness is a key leadership role based at site and is responsible for ensuring all systems, processes, and personnel are developed and prepared for smooth, efficient and safe plant operation. This role is crucial in implementing the final stages of the plant’s commissioning and ensuring that the facility meets performance and safety standards before full‑scale production begins. Responsibilities
- Lead the transition of the processing plant from construction to operational status.
- Coordinate across engineering, operations, safety, quality and training functions to ensure operational readiness.
- Implement final stages of commissioning and ensure the facility meets performance and safety standards before full‑scale production.
- Oversee site travel, with increasing on‑site presence towards the end of construction. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- 10 years of experience in a senior operational role within mining, minerals processing or a related industrial setting, with experience in commissioning and start‑up of processing plants.
- Experience in a leadership or managerial role focused on operational readiness or plant commissioning.
- Proven leadership and project management skills, with the ability to manage cross‑functional teams.
- Knowledge of mining processes, plant operations, equipment, systems and technologies. What’s on offer
