Cyber GRC Specialist (Adelaide)

Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia’s future. We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Cyber Security Consultant in ACT to work on Defence Space domain projects. What You’ll Do
- Provide governance and assurance of contracted cyber security resources across Defence programs.
- Support industry partners by defining explicit, compliant, and achievable cyber security requirements.
- Conduct structured, evidence‑based cyber security risk assessments.
- Review and assure solutions developed by cyber SMEs to ensure alignment with Defence standards.
- Operate within established Defence ICT, security, and engineering frameworks. What You’ll Bring
- Demonstrated experience delivering cyber security governance, assurance, and risk assessment services in Defence or similar environments.
- Strong understanding of Defence ICT, security frameworks, and engineering processes.
- Ability to translate complex cyber requirements into practical guidance for industry stakeholders.
- Experience mentoring or supporting cyber security staff across Commonwealth and Managed Service Provider environments (highly desirable).
- Current holder or ability to maintain a high‑level clearance (highly desirable). Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain an AGSVA Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may also be an inherent requirement. This role will be offered on a 12 month Maximum Term basis.
