Senior Manager, Business Intelligence (Adelaide)

Role Overview The Senior Manager, Business Intelligence will lead a team of developers responsible for the design, development, and operation of the University’s business intelligence systems, overseeing small projects and continuous improvement initiatives. Reporting to the Director, Business Intelligence, the Senior Manager will contribute to the University’s Data and Analytics Strategy and lead implementation initiatives, driving innovation in business intelligence and analytics by staying abreast of and leveraging the evolving capabilities of University platforms. The role also involves leading the design and development of analytic solutions that meet complex University information requirements, using Power BI and IBM Cognos Analytics on Oracle and Microsoft Fabric, in a dynamic workplace characterised by diverse stakeholders, competing priorities, and challenging analytical questions. Location: Performance Data and Insights, City West campus. Full‑time continuing position. Salary range: $132,705 – $141,974 per annum plus 17% superannuation. Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of developers to design, develop, and operate business intelligence systems.
- Oversee small projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to the Data and Analytics Strategy and lead relevant implementation activities.
- Drive innovation in business intelligence and analytics by exploiting evolving platform capabilities.
- Design and develop analytic solutions that meet complex information requirements.
- Collaborate with diverse stakeholders and manage competing priorities and analytical challenges. Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience leading and managing development teams with a focus on professional development and performance outcomes.
- High-level interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills for engaging a wide range of stakeholders within and outside the University.
- Experience supervising developers within a software development lifecycle using tools such as Jira.
- Proven experience in administration, design and development of enterprise business intelligence and analytics systems.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and educate diverse audiences.
- Extensive experience in communicating complex concepts.
- Ability to engage diverse internal and external stakeholders in a consultative and collaborative manner to deliver business solutions.
- Extensive experience in SQL and dimensional modelling concepts to support enterprise reporting and analytics.
- Proven experience with Microsoft Power BI or IBM Cognos Analytics, including building reports and dashboards and designing semantic models that underpin reporting and enable effective self‑service analytics for end users.
