Power Systems Engineer (Adelaide)

Step into a role where your power systems expertise shapes the future of generation and grid performance. Join WSP’s high‑performing Transmission and Distribution team to deliver complex system studies, support commissioning and mentor the next generation of engineers. What You’ll Do
- Deliver key technical tasks across a diverse portfolio of generation and power‑system projects, ensuring rigorous engineering outcomes.
- Prepare transparent, high‑quality technical reports for small to medium‑scale projects, communicating complex concepts with precision.
- Develop proposal scopes, methodologies and cost estimates for power‑system studies and related project work.
- Perform classical power‑system analysis and modelling for studies such as load flow, transient stability, generator performance (NER compliance), insulation coordination, cable/transformer energisation, steady‑state assessments, short‑circuit analysis, and protection settings/coordination.
- Conduct field validation of generator performance through commissioning activities and hold‑point testing, including preparation of detailed testing reports. About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Extensive experience in power‑system studies and associated engineering disciplines.
- Prior consultancy experience is highly regarded.
- Proven ability to mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering technical capability within the team.
- Strong competency in preparing and reviewing technical designs, reports and engineering documentation.
- Proficient in industry‑standard modelling tools such as PSS/E, PSCAD, PowerFactory, ETAP and SKM PTW .
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly in both written and verbal formats. How You’ll Work Flexibility is core to how we operate.
