This is a hands-on, on-site P&C; Business Partner role supporting the CMV Truck Centre (Gepps Cross), along with Hino Adelaide (Regency Park) and Barry Maney Group (Mount Gambier). You’ll be embedded in the business, working closely with operational leaders, understanding the day-to-day challenges and providing practical, commercially minded people advice. It’s a true generalist role with plenty of variety, autonomy and the opportunity to build strong, trusted relationships across multiple sites. You’ll spend your days with a mix of on-site at our locations with an option to spend one day in the CBD head office, giving you the best of both worlds
- connection to the broader P&C; team, while remaining close to the day to day operations of the business. There will also be times, where you will be required to travel to Mt Gambier to partner with the team there. Reporting to a supportive Employee Experience Manager, you’ll be part of a cooperative P&C; function that values communication and shared learning. A typical week might see you:
- Partnering with leaders to provide coaching and advice on employee and industrial relations matters
- Managing performance, disciplinary processes and complex investigations with confidence and care
- Supporting workers’ compensation cases and coordinating effective return-to-work plans
- Working closely with leaders on recruitment
- briefing roles, supporting campaigns and managing selection processes
- Contributing to P&C; projects, policies and continuous improvement initiatives
- Supporting leaders to build capability and confidence in people management practices
- Encouraging effective use of Dayforce and ensuring data and processes are being used well
- Acting as a true sounding board for leaders
- providing balanced, practical and timely advice Who are you? You’re a confident, approachable P&C; generalist who enjoys being in the business
- not sitting behind a desk removed from it. You build trust quickly, communicate well and aren’t afraid to have the conversations that matter. You’re comfortable working autonomously and making decisions, but you also value being part of a team where ideas are shared and support is there when you need it. You’re practical in your approach
- able to balance risk with commercial outcomes
- and you genuinely enjoy helping leaders lift capability and create positive team environments. You’ll bring:
- 5 plus years of solid experience in a generalist HR/P&C; role, ideally within an operational or multi-site environment
- Confidence managing employee relations matters, including performance, investigations and case management
- Robust relationship-building skills and a collaborative, down-to-earth style
- The ability to work at pace, juggle priorities and stay calm under pressure
- A sound understanding of employment legislation and HR best practice
- Experience with HRIS systems (Dayforce experience is a bonus, not a must)
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in HR or a related discipline (desirable, not essential) What’s in it for you?
