Technical Writer Full‑time, permanent role based in Adelaide, where you will be part of a high‑performing Technical Services Team supporting the strategic asset management of the ADF's GSE fleet. Responsibilities
- Develop, review and maintain high‑quality technical documentation that supports engineering, maintenance and operational activities for Ground Support Equipment assets.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance across technical publications, manuals, work instructions and change documentation as updates are made to maintenance regimes, parts and engineering processes.
- Work closely with engineers, maintenance specialists and Defence stakeholders to gather information, translate complex technical detail into clear, user‑focused documentation, and support the continuous improvement of our publication standards.
- Support the Service Desk rotation, assist with document control processes and contribute to broader engineering lifecycle activities.
- Contribute to the strengthening of Australia's Defence capability by ensuring that all technical information is current, consistent and aligned with Defence requirements. Candidate Profile
- Australian Citizen with a Defence security clearance (or the ability to obtain).
- Technical vocational qualification or certificate in a related discipline (Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical).
- Experienced Technical Writer skilled in interpreting ILS and technical program requirements and developing clear, accurate documentation to support acquisition and sustainment activities.
- Understanding of applicable ILS, engineering and maintenance toolsets and processes (e.g., PLM, MRP, Configuration Management, Engineering Lifecycle Management).
- Previous experience within a maintenance environment, preferably within the Defence industry. Benefits & Perks
