The Project The consortium of John Holland, Bouygues Construction, Arcadis Australia, Jacobs and Ventia has been selected to build South Australia’s biggest-ever road infrastructure project. In partnership with the South Australian Government, this consortium forms the Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance. The T2D Alliance will deliver the final 10.5 km section of the North‑South Corridor, forming a continuous 78‑km, non‑stop, traffic‑light‑free motorway, and contributing to a lasting legacy for Adelaide’s community and people. The T2D project involves constructing two separate tunnels – the Southern Tunnels and the Northern Tunnels connected by an open motorway – with a combined total distance of 10.5 km, open to traffic in 2031. The project comprises the tunnels, surface works including road and bridge construction in addition to service buildings and complex mechanical and electrical infrastructure. The Alliance is committed to providing opportunities for local people, Aboriginal workers, apprentices, trainees and job seekers who have been long‑term unemployed, offering them a chance to be part of this iconic project. Job Role As a Junior Cost Controller, you will work closely with senior cost controllers and project teams, supporting the monitoring, analysis, and reporting of project costs to help ensure financial performance and budget compliance. Key Accountabilities
- Support Cost Controllers in reviewing the analysis and interpretation of statistical and accounting information for use in management and decision making.
- Compile monthly project reports and KPIs.
- Review and analyse operating results in relation to cost, budgets and operating policies, and consolidate capital asset, maintenance and operating budgets.
- Participate in the development of short and longer‑term financial policies, objectives and plans and oversee the implementation of agreed financial plans.
- Support the preparation of schedules for financial reporting in accordance with management and statutory requirements.
- Monitor outstanding debtors and assist project Managers to resolve them.
- Audit the procurement process and ensure that all requisitions and related invoices are authorised by the nominated person.
- Audit project wage employee remuneration including timesheets.
- Compile, review and analyse forecast information to evaluate the final financial position of the project.
- Liaise with external auditors as required.
- Contribute to the selection and/or training of finance staff.
- Build strong internal and external stakeholder management through positive, proactive and professional communication to keep key personnel informed. About You
- Degree or diploma in Finance, Accounting, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or currently studying).
- 1–3 years experience in a similar role (cost control, finance or project support) preferred.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel at an intermediate level or above.
- Robust communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
