Group HSEQ Manager (Adelaide)

Group HSEQ Manager (Adelaide)
Description
The Opportunity: Strategic Leadership Our client is a prominent leader operating within a high‑risk, project‑based industrial sector with multiple operational depots and a solid commitment to environmental and corporate social responsibility. They prioritise the safety of their people, families, and the public above all else. We are looking for a visionary Group HSEQ Manager who brings the wisdom of “lived safety” to a purely strategic leadership position. This is not a traditional, clipboard‑carrying safety inspector role; it is an executive steering position reporting directly to the General Manager (aligned to the EGM – Operations & HSEQ). The role will lead, mentor, and empower an internal HSEQ team consisting of a HSEQ Manager, HSEQ Coordinator, and HSEQ Administrator. The primary mandate is to personalise safety and champion a deep behavioural change that embeds a proactive “Zero Harm” safety culture across the entire group. Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Safety Steering: Lead and continuously improve the organisation’s overarching WHS strategy, policies, and Integrated Management Systems in alignment with group objectives.
- Behavioural Change & Culture: Move beyond basic compliance to foster true accountability, proactive hazard reporting, and psychological safety where every employee feels empowered to speak up.
- Executive Advisory: Monitor safety performance metrics and trends, providing high‑level insights, briefings, and recommendations to the executive leadership team.
- Team Leadership: Coach, mentor, and develop the existing HSEQ team, ensuring the department supports the wider business through genuine business partnering and continuous improvement.
- Audit & Governance: Oversee annual TQCSI audits and maintain ISO accreditations (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001) while managing high‑level relationships with regulators and external stakeholders. Essential Criteria
- Experience: Minimum of ten (10) years of demonstrated experience within workplace health and safety roles, including senior leadership and multi‑site operational environments.
- Education: A relevant tertiary qualification in WHS or a related technical discipline.
- Regulatory Expertise: Comprehensive, robust knowledge of Australian WHS legislation, compliance frameworks, and incident investigation methodologies.
- Systems & Tools: Proficiency in modern corporate software (MS Office) and ability to leverage enterprise safety systems. Desirable
- Direct experience within the crane hire, heavy transport, logistics or highly complex project‑based industrial sectors.
- In‑depth working knowledge of ISO accreditation standards and formal leadership qualifications. We are an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, colour, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin or disability. #J-18808-Ljbffr Apply on Kit Job: kitjobau.com/job/3rwacn
