Tax Director (Tax Avoidance Taskforce) This vacancy is only open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants. To be eligible for this role candidates must provide confirmation of their Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage. We are seeking influential leaders with solid tax technical knowledge and experience to join our Tax Avoidance Taskforce within the Compliance and Engagement Group of the ATO. You will apply your practical experience and knowledge across a range of complex structures and significant transactions, activities, and events to identify and mitigate potential tax risks. You will play a critical role in detecting and addressing tax avoidance to protect revenue, maintain the integrity of the tax system, and improve tax performance of Australian and international businesses. You will make a positive impact on the taxation system on a national and international scale, and directly contribute to our programs. These roles include tax assurance, risk-based compliance, and dispute resolution, supporting a range of Tax Avoidance Taskforce programs.

These programs play a key role in ensuring that multinational enterprises, large public and private businesses, and associated individuals pay the correct amount of tax in Australia.
