Cook Walgett Multi Purpose Service
About the role Are you seeking an opportunity to draw on your skills and knowledge of the food service industry, and apply them to a fulfilling new career? We are looking for a Cook to join our team at Walgett.
In this important role you will assist with menu planning, meal preparation, cleaning and distribution of meals to our residents. Using your knowledge of Work Health & Safety, infection control and food handling principles, you will ensure food is handled in a safe and hygienic way.
Previous experience cooking is a hospitality setting would be preferred. Ability and willingness to work shifts, on a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays is required.
Advantages include:
- Extra pay for shifts: afternoons (10-12.5%), nights (10-15%), Saturdays (50%), Sundays (75%), public holidays (150%)
- Annual leave with 17.5% loading (permanent roles)
- Sick leave after a qualifying period (permanent roles)
- Superannuation at 12% Salary packaging (extra take-home pay): You can choose to pay for some everyday expenses (like rent, mortgage or bills) using your pre-tax income. This is called salary packaging and means you pay less tax and keep more of your pay each week.
- Salary package up to $11,659 per year in non-remote areas (Bathurst, Blayney, Dubbo, Molong, Orange)
- Salary package up to $20,668 per year in remote areas (more the 40KM from these towns/cities) This can increase your take-home pay by around $65-$105 per week, depending on your situation.
