Cold Store & Dispatch Supervisor (Katanning)

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Cold Store & Dispatch Supervisor to join our operations in Katanning, WA. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing product conditioning, storage, inventory management, and dispatch operations while ensuring compliance, safety, and operational efficiency across the site. About the Role Reporting to the Plant Manager and working closely with the Production Manager, you will lead and support teams across storage and dispatch functions to ensure product integrity, workplace safety, and accurate inventory control are maintained at all times. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, and provide technical inductions for leading hands and employees across product conditioning, storage, and dispatch
- Ensure compliance with all DAFF and AUS‑MEAT standards
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture by minimising hazards and ensuring employees understand their duty of care
- Liaise with the Production Manager regarding storage capacity, production planning, and loading requirements
- Work collaboratively with Safety Representatives and the OHS Manager to address workplace safety matters in line with company policies
- Foster positive and effective industrial relations across the workforce
- Coordinate with the Plant Engineer regarding preventative and general maintenance requirements
- Liaise with Boning Room and Slaughter Floor Supervisors to support efficient production flow and storage management
- Coordinate dispatch activities with contractors and the Perth‑based shipping team
- Ensure all outgoing products are accurately scanned, correctly port‑marked where required, and accompanied by complete documentation
- Maintain and reconcile weekly inventory records to ensure system accuracy
- Identify damaged products or cartons prior to dispatch and arrange re‑packing where necessary
- Authorise store requisitions
- Develop and implement job rotation and employee training initiatives
- Undertake additional duties as directed by the Plant Manager About You
- Proven supervisory experience in cold storage, dispatch, or logistics operations (experience within meat processing highly regarded)
- Strong understanding of food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance, including DAFF and AUS‑MEAT requirements
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to train, mentor, and motivate teams
- Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety practices
- Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across departments and with external stakeholders
