About the Role Due to continued project growth, we are seeking an experienced QC Inspector (SMP) to join our team supporting the Alkimos Desalination Project. This is a DIDO role, 10‐hour days, Monday to Friday, with a 6‐hour day Saturday. This is an opportunity to play a key role on a major infrastructure project, ensuring all structural, mechanical, and piping installations are delivered to the highest quality standards. You will work closely with site teams, subcontractors, and client representatives to drive a strong "right first time" culture through technical expertise, attention to detail, and proactive quality leadership. Perform inspections across structural steel, mechanical, and piping installations to verify compliance with Australian Standards and project specifications. Execute and progressively sign off ITPs and ITRs throughout all stages of installation. Attend walkdowns and final inspections with client representatives and assist in the close‐out of punch‐list items. Compile and maintain MDRs including material certificates, test results, and as‐built documentation. Monitor subcontractor quality compliance against approved quality plans and procedures. Support Management of Change (MOC) processes by documenting and escalating field‐level design deviations. Upload and manage quality documentation through client CMS systems. Provide technical guidance to supervisors and site teams to minimise rework and ensure "right first time" delivery. Raise and participate in the investigation and close‐out of NCRs. Validate as‐built drawings and ensure documentation accurately reflects site installation. Coordinate and monitor NDT activities with third‐party providers. Produce daily and weekly QC progress reports highlighting risks, defects, and schedule impacts. Promote and uphold Altrad HSEQ standards and contribute to a quality‐focused site culture. About You WS‐10 Welding Supervisor AS**** Certification and/or CSWIP Welding Inspector (WI 3.1). Minimum 8 years' experience in a similar SMP QC Inspection role. Strong knowledge of welding standards, codes, and inspection requirements. Proven experience completing QA/QC documentation including ITRs, ITPs, flange management sign‐offs, MDRs, and punch lists. Experience managing quality documentation, handovers, and as‐built drawing development. Strong understanding of MDR development and compilation processes. Ability to interpret technical specifications and maintain high compliance standards. Strong computer literacy across Microsoft Office, Excel, PDF editors, and project management systems. Excellent attention to detail with a process‐driven mindset. Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.
