Apprentice Signal Electrician Alice Springs

Aurizon is seeking two Apprentice Signal Electricians to support the installation, maintenance and repair of signalling and wayside equipment across the Central corridor, with roles based in Whyalla, Alice Springs or Darwin. Working under the supervision of qualified Signal Electricians, you will assist with inspections, fault finding, testing, commissioning and corrective maintenance to support the protected and reliable operation of rail signalling infrastructure. This role provides structured on‑the‑job training aligned to the rail signalling trade pathway. As part of your apprenticeship, you will also spend time with the Rollingstock team working on locomotive electrical systems. The role includes travel within the region and occasional call outs due to the critical nature of signalling assets. About you
- You are motivated to complete an electrical apprenticeship and build a long‑term career in rail signalling.
- Willingness and eligibility to undertake and complete an electrical apprenticeship.
- Interest in electrical, technical or trade‑based work.
- Ability to follow procedures and work safely at all times.
- Developing problem‑solving and fault‑finding skills.
- Ability to work outdoors and across operational rail environments.
- Basic ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation.
- Current C Class Driver’s Licence (no restrictions) – essential.
- Willingness to travel within the region and respond to call outs.
- No previous rail or signalling experience is required. Full training and supervision will be provided. What We Offer
