SYNOPSIS: **Community Safety Service Officer**
- **From $82,084 p.a. total salary package (from $73,950 **+ 11% super**)**:
- **Temporary, Fixed Term (Contract ending June 2026)**:
- **Full time (7 x 12hr shift fortnight, with night shift rostering)**:

The Community Safety Service is a 24/7 mobile patrol service that acts as extra eyes and ears for local police and the community. We help keep our community safe and secure through high visibility patrols, where we observe, monitor, and report suspicious behaviour and information to the WA Police Force.
In addition to the suite of safety services we provide to ratepayers, we also detect and report graffiti, vandalism and abandoned vehicles, and assist the State Emergency Service during storms.
We now seek a suitably qualified individual to contribute towards a shared vision of a Safer Melville where people want to live, work, and participate. **As our Community Safety Service Officer, you’ll be responsible for**
- Undertaking proactive, intelligence led community patrol services including foot patrol where required, noting that the patrols are conducted primarily in our cars.
- Attending to customer requests or incidents as required and dispatched by the Team Leader.
- When attending customer requests, using initiative to always solve issues ensuring personal safety and referring any significant problems/issues immediately to the Team Leader.
- Demonstrating behaviours that reflect the organisations values and supports cross functional teams and meets customer and organisational needs.
**To be successful in this role, you will possess**:
- Essential
- Current ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence.
- Essential
- Current Police Clearance.
- Essential
- Security Officers License issued under the Security and Related Activities (Control) Act 1996.
- Essential
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate.
- Previous experience in a related field
- Sound customer service skills, and effective communication skills
- including report writing.
- Effective conflict resolution skills.
- Effective time management skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
