We are now seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as an Elected Member Support Officer in an exciting, brand-new role with the City!
This role requires the precision of executive assistance and calls for a meticulous organiser and adept communicator to ensure seamless coordination of meetings, events, and correspondence for our esteemed Mayor and Elected Members.***
***As our Elected Member Support Officer, you’ll be responsible for**
- Coordinating meetings, appointments, and communications for the Mayor and CEO; ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all communications.
- Organising internal and external events for the Mayor, including speech preparation aligned with Council priorities.
- Acting as the point of contact for the Mayor and CEO Office.
- Prioritising and managing enquiries effectively.
- Attending meetings with the Mayor, recording minutes, and facilitating follow-up actions.
- Handling and drafting responses to correspondence on behalf of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor. Arranging travel and accommodation for city-related matters for key stakeholders.
- Coordinating the weekly Elected Members Bulletin, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
- Cultivating and maintaining strong internal and external relationships through effective stakeholder management.
**Note that this position will require occasional attendance at evening meetings.**
**To be successful in this role, you will possess**:
- **Essential**:
- National Police Clearance Certificate.
- A comprehensive understanding of local government operations, including the roles of Elected Members and adherence to protocols, is essential.
- Demonstrated experience in working collaboratively and consultatively across all operational levels of an organisation.
- The ability to communicate effectively and adapt to diverse audiences; highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to proofread and edit documents proficiently.
- Ability to solve problems, exercise discretion, and maintain confidentiality while delivering exceptional customer service.
- Strong customer service skills and experience; the ability to prioritise customer satisfaction, anticipating and addressing needs proactively to deliver exceptional service experiences.
- **Desirable**
- Possession of or progression towards a relevant professional qualification.
