Are you passionate about nature and eager to make a difference? The City of Melville is offering an exciting opportunity for a First Nations Conservation Trainee. This temporary full-time position allows you to gain hands-on experience in natural area conservation while completing a Certificate II in Conservation and Ecosystem Management.

As a First Nations Conservation Trainee, your day-to-day activities will involve hands-on conservation work in natural areas. You’ll be planting native flora, collecting seeds, and controlling weeds using various techniques. You’ll also learn to operate and maintain equipment like chainsaws and brushcutters. Throughout your training, you’ll work closely with a team and receive mentorship from the Natural Areas Senior Team Leader.

**To be successful in this role, you will possess**: **Essential**
- Aboriginality is a genuine occupational requirement of this position (Section 50D of the Equal Opportunity Act).
- Achieved Year 9 NAPLAN cut point scores for Literacy and Numeracy, achieved OLNA category 3, C Grades in Year 10 English and Maths or a Cert I or Cert II.
- Ability to complete Certificate II Conservation and Ecosystem Management
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to share and work in a team environment***
