About This Role Manage the facilities of H.M Langi Kal Kal Prison to a high standard, in a planned and efficient manner, with support from internal and external contractors, to achieve a safe environment with compliant, well maintained infrastructure. Fixed‑term, Full‑time (05/07/2026 – 13/04/2027) opportunity to work with a high‑performing and passionate team in the Victorian Public Service. VPS 5: $116,413 – $140,849 plus superannuation. About the Business Unit The Facilities Manager is part of the Prisons Leadership Team, supporting service delivery for H.M. Prison Langi Kal Kal. The Facilities Manager will lead a team of maintenance staff who are responsible for the day‑to‑day maintenance, fault rectification, building development and preventative maintenance programmes in accordance with relative building codes, plant and equipment specifications, OH&S; Act, relevant regulations and compliance codes. About the Role The Facilities Manager will also be responsible for undertaking comprehensive planning and ensuring that information/data management systems are in place for spare parts/stock management, so that faults and failures are managed in a timely, cost‑efficient manner. The Facilities Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of systems and processes that ensure facilities, assets and other key business resources are in place to support H.M. Prison Langi Kal Kal service delivery goals. A strong network of stakeholders both internally and externally to the prison will be required to enable consultation, engagement and commitment from the prison, to support initiatives, project implementation and contract management. Accordingly, the role is required to provide service support and respond to the business needs in partnership with the General Manager of the Prison. Roles and Responsibilities
- In consultation with the General Manager and other stakeholders, develop and implement an Asset Management Framework and Plan that ensures facilities, assets and other key business resources are in place to support H.M. Prison Langi Kal Kal service delivery goals.
- Ensure compliant best‑practice procurement processes are followed for all infrastructure works and that the department and its supplier(s) meet their respective obligations as efficiently and effectively as possible.
- Manage, monitor and review contract delivery to ensure that planned outcomes of contracts are delivered on time, to specified standards and within budget. About You
- Experience in facility and asset management essential.
- An understanding of the complexity of working within a correctional environment. Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience in a project management background, facility & asset management and/or in building/electrical trade is desirous.
- Experience also in maintaining databases and records is preferred. Significant Information
