- $82,000 + Super per annum Full time High Society café and restaurant has a vacancy opening for Chefs. We are looking for qualified and experienced candidates. Major Responsibilities and Tasks
- Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
- Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
- Examining ingredients and foodstuffs to ensure quality
- Prepare full range of foods according to the Menu and customer requirements
- Prepare, serve and store food items in regard to the requirements of our kitchen
- Seasons food according to recipes or restaurant needs
- Portions, arranges, and garnishes food based on client preference
- Changing and creating menu with Head Chef when required
- Makes adjustments to food items to accommodate guests with allergies or specific diet concerns
- Ensure all meals are prepared and presented in a professional manner
- Ensure all our policies and procedures, health and hygiene requirements are adhered to
- Maintaining, ordering and rotating stock
- Supervising and training other cooks, apprentices and other kitchen employees when required
- Assist in maintaining customer service standards set by the Employer Relevant Qualifications:
- AQF Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent or 3 years of relevant work experiences Relevant Experiences
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar capacity Relevant Skills:
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
- Attention to details
- Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
